What's coming up...

Math: We have finished our Data Management Unit and are now moving on to Geometry. Our learning goals are:

  • review polygons and solids
  • types of triangles (equilateral, isosceles and scalene)
  • reading, measuring and constructing angles
Here is a video to assist your child in reading a protractor.

Language: Continue to read and discuss chapters in our novel study "Loser". This novel fits in beautifully with Bullying Prevention Week as the main character is subject to bullying due to his special needs.

Science: Continue to discuss the three states of matter (solid, liquid and gas). To help your child, discuss examples of these three states at home. Also, we will finish watching the last presentations of our human body in-class projects.

Advent: We are collecting food again this year for those less fortunate. Your child will come home with a note giving them an item of food to bring in by Dec. 2. Thanks in advance for your generosity!

A few updates...

In math, we are learning about the mode, median, mean and range of a series of numbers. Here is a catchy tune to help you remember what they are:

In science, (PM class only) there will be a science test this Wednesday, Nov. 2nd on the circulatory system, nervous system and skeletal system. Use the review as a study guide. Good luck!
